FEUDISTUDI: Irpinia’s Vineyards and Wines | Introduction

The territory, its varieties and Designations of Origin.
2023 Edition

Ebook Amazon Kindle: € 2,74

The “volume zero” of the FEUDISTUDI: Irpinia’s Vineyards and Wines series is a fundamental introduction conceived above all for professional operators and wine lovers in need of coordinates to help them easily distinguish this district’s territorial, winemaking and human specificities.

After the prologue entrusted to the thoughts of the people who envisaged and embarked on this adventure, the first thematic section focuses on the many aspects that identify the province of Avellino as a sort of “dark side” of Southern Italy. Geoclimatic and environmental characteristics, historical and economic roots, ampelographic and expressive peculiarities: a focus accompanied by maps, tables and data relating to the production chain.

The second part centres on the vineyards and wines that make up the wide range of options offered through the FEUDISTUDI, Feudi di San Gregorio and Tenute Capaldo lines, linked to specific sub-zones or individual communes, districts and crus.

A dense and, we hope, useful compendium of everything that makes Irpinia an increasingly redeeming antidote to predictability and standardisation, thanks in part to the many valuable players and courageous ideas that are the driving force behind this authentic whirligig of contemporary winemaking.
